Siliguri, 09th July: A shocking incident surfaced from Siliguri on Tuesday evening, as the decomposed body of a man was found hanging from the noose. The deceased was identified as Siddhant Chhetri (32), a resident of the Demdima Basti under the jurisdiction of the Bhakti Nagar police station.
According to reports, the incident came to light after locals noticed a foul odour emanating from the residence. The Bhakti Nagar police were promptly alerted and the police began intervening in the matter.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found a decomposing body hanging by a noose inside the house. The body was recovered and subsequently transported to Siliguri District Hospital. On Tuesday, the body was transferred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. The officials have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Meanwhile, the deceased family is gripped with an atmosphere of shock and mourning.
