Siliguri, 15th June: In response to the recent murder near the NJP IOC gate, the Darjeeling Zila Transport Drivers and Khalasi Union, affiliated with INTTUC, submitted a memorandum at the NJP Police Station. The union members arrived in a large procession from IOC Road to the police station on Saturday.
The murder occurred on Friday night when a man named Kalipada Roy was killed amid a dispute between two groups. Following the incident, the victim’s family lodged a complaint at the NJP police station, naming several suspects.
Sujoy Sarkar, President of the Siliguri Town Block 3 INTTUC New Jalpaiguri Branch, attributed the incident to administrative negligence. He demanded swift action and the immediate arrest of those involved in the murder, emphasizing that justice must be served for the heinous crime.
