Bagdogra, 11th March: The Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress (TMC) held a meeting in Bagdogra on Wednesday to begin preparations for the upcoming elections. The meeting brought together elected public representatives of the party under one roof to discuss organisational strategies ahead of the polls.
Although the party has not yet announced its candidate for the Matigara-Naxalbari Assembly constituency, leaders present at the meeting pledged to collectively support and work for whoever is nominated by the party.
The meeting was attended by the district chairman, members of the core committee and several elected representatives.
According to party sources, the meeting was organised to discuss how the organisation would function in the coming days and to strengthen preparations for the elections.
