Siliguri, 16th March: Higher Secondary examinations are being conducted in the entire state. The exam seats of some candidates are within 3 km from home and some are at a distance of 10 km. Several candidates were worried if they could reach the exam centre on time. To address the worries of the examinees, Siliguri Town Block-02 under Darjeeling District INTTUC has taken the initiative of providing free e-rickshaw service during the days of examination.
The service will be provided across 17 wards of Town Block-02. Along with this, e-rickshaw drivers will take the candidates of Ashighar More, Jaleshwari, Kankata More, Hatiadanga, Fakdaibari areas to the examination centre on time. About 50 e-rickshaws have been arranged to take the candidates to the examination centre and posters have been pasted on the said e-rickshaws. The service was started from Arabinda Pally of Siliguri’s Ward No. 22. The candidates and their guardians were very happy and ecstatic with the service.
