Siliguri, 01st May: Following the government guidelines of social distance, the Darjeeling District CPI(M), on Friday, celebrated International Workers’ Day at the party office.
Apart from paying a tribute to all the martyred laborers, the organization members also put forth several demands. Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya, CPI(M) District Secretary Jibesh Sarkar, and many other dignitaries were present during the event.
Labor Day or International Workers’ Day is observed each year on the first day of May to celebrate the achievements of the working class. The day, also called as ‘May Day’, is also observed as a public holiday in many countries.
