Siliguri, 18th March: In a recent development, Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Sikha Chatterjee faced defiance in Ward No. 40 in Siliguri.
According to reports, several issues engrossed the said ward. On Monday morning, MLA Sikha Chatterjee arrived at the area to meet the families affected by an incident of fire. However, after witnessing the MLA’s presence the locals expressed resentment and an argument broke out.
It is to be noted that a similar incident occurred a few days ago where the BJP MP from Jalpaiguri Jayanta Roy had to face antagonism of the people during his visit to Porajhar area.
Meanwhile, MLA Sikha Chatterjee termed the incident as a conspiracy of the Trinamool. She stated that the Councilor of the area has not done any development work. She added that she has arrived in the area to listen to the complaints of the people but was threatened to leave the area.
In this regard, the locals alleged that after being elected, the MLA failed in her responsibilities and was never seen in the area which prompted their resentment.
