Dabgram–Fulbari BJP candidate Sikha Chatterjee faces questions during campaign

Siliguri, 21st March: Dabgram–Fulbari BJP candidate Sikha Chatterjee faced questions from a local youth during her election campaign in the assembly constituency.

On Saturday, while campaigning in the Bottle Company area, she encountered sharp questions from a local youth. The youth alleged that she had not been visible in the area during local issues or during the SIR process, and expressed dissatisfaction over her absence despite being a public representative. The interaction led to a brief tense situation.

Responding to the questions, Shikha Chatterjee stated that the SIR process is an administrative matter under the Election Commission, and unnecessary interference was not appropriate, which is why she maintained distance from it. She added that, as a responsible public representative, her presence depends on the situation and context.

She also alleged that the questioning had a political motive and claimed that those raising such questions were Trinamool Congress workers attempting to create a tense atmosphere during the campaign.
