CPM candidate remains undeterred, files nomination despite threatening flyer in Rajganj

Rajganj, 14th June: Despite the distribution of threatening leaflets in the name of a CPM candidate, the candidate boldly filed her nomination, disregarding the intimidation. The incident occurred in Sannyasikata, Rajganj. It has come to light that pamphlets threatening the husband of the CPM candidate for Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat in Rajganj were circulated on Tuesday night. The CPM has accused the Trinamool Congress of being involved in this incident, although the Trinamool has denied the allegations.

According to the CPM, a threatening pamphlet was discovered last night, bearing the name of Haleem, the husband of CPM candidate Feroza Begum from Booth No. 119 of Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat. The pamphlet contained the message, “Haleem Babu, you are too naive. Why are you in politics? Leave now. We are supporting you in every way, but if you continue with the election, the outcome will not be favourable.”

In response, Feroza Begum expressed her defiance, questioning the purpose of the threatening posters. She stated that they were not afraid and attributed the ruling party’s actions to their fear of defeat. Saikat Ali, the opposition party leader in the gram panchayat and a CPM member, remarked that the ruling party had put up the posters out of fear of losing. On the other hand, Trinamool block president Arindam Banerjee denied any involvement of Trinamool members in the incident, labeling it as a conspiracy by the opposition.
