Siliguri, 15th August: On Independence Day, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) organized a human chain event at Rajganj Market. Party workers and supporters formed a line along the roadside to participate in the human chain.
The party leadership explained that the human chain event is an annual tradition held by the CPM on Independence Day. This year, the event is particularly significant due to the recent uproar following the R.G. Kar incident in Kolkata and the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. The party’s call for unity against these issues was a central theme of the event.
Additionally, the human chain was also aimed at demanding stringent punishment for the perpetrators responsible for the R.G. Kar incident.
