CPI (M) submits memorandum to Siliguri Mayor in support of residents of Khudiram Colony and Adhikar Pally Sahudangi

Siliguri, 13th December: The CPI (M) Darjeeling District Committee submitted a memorandum to the Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation to stand with the residents of Siliguri’s Khudiram Colony and Sahudangi’s Adhikari Pally area.

CPI (M) members alleged that houses the Mayor had assured to build have not yet been built for the fire-affected families in the Khudiram Colony. Although the work had commenced, however, the work has been halted now.

The CPI (M) demanded that houses be constructed and handed over to the affected families at the earliest. On the other hand, the party also alleged that attempts are being made by the capitalists to evict the residents of Adhikar Pally of Sahudangi and also have tried to divert the river.

In regard to the above mentioned, the CPI (M) members met Mayor Goutam Deb to bring the matter to his notice and urge him to stop the eviction of the residents of the Adhikar Pally and also submitted a memorandum in support of their demand.
