Siliguri, 03rd July: 40 COVID-19 patients were successfully treated and discharged at Siliguri’s Covid Care Centre. The centre is a joint initiative of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) North Bengal Chapter, Siliguri Welfare Organisation, Liver Foundation and Forum for Humanity.
Addressing the media, ICC North Bengal Chairman Nishant Mittal said that during this one month the centre provided medical help to many COVID patients. Furthermore, 40 persons admitted at the centre were successfully treated. He described the initiative to be unique and now a model health care unit to counter the pandemic.
Siliguri Welfare Organization working President Abhijit Mazumdar said that the free COVID centre is supported by the selfless and untiring efforts of the medical team, volunteers and some individuals of the society. He lauded the efforts of Marwari Yuva Manch in providing free food for patients. He said that the centre has provided relief to poor people who find it difficult to get treatment at the private hospitals and nursing homes in Siliguri.
As per the information, the centre comprises of doctors and paramedical team, oxygen support, beds, ambulance, medicines and free food. ICC Members Dilip Dugar, Hiralal Agarwal and Marwari Yuva Manch President Manoj Agarwal were present during this press conference.
