COVID-19 pandemic: Youths of Mirik take initiative to safeguard their hometown

Mirik, 30th May: Day after Darjeeling Hills reported 4 coronavirus positive cases, members of social organisation ‘A Mirikian Initiative’ took upon themselves to safeguard their hometown amid the pandemic.



Just 52 kms from Siliguri, the youths in a joint venture with the Mirik Police, Mirik Block Primary Health Centre and Ward Commissioner are running a screening campaign for the people who are entering the town from different places.

As per the information, if any individual is detected with high temperature or any symptoms of COVID, the person will be immediately sent to Mirik Hospital for further checkup.

“We need more volunteers to support the cause. Anyone one interested can contact us,” the organization members further appealed.
