Darjeeling, 24th August: The Darjeeling District Truck Owners’ Association has extended their unwavering support to the 12-hour Siliguri bandh called by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) in protest of the tragic murder of a minor girl. This significant move has also garnered backing from the Darjeeling Truck Drivers’ Association, resulting in a complete standstill of truck movement in the region on Thursday.
Manna Trikhatri, the Chairman of the Darjeeling District Truck Owners’ Association, expressed the organization’s support of the bandh as a resolute stand against the heinous crime and a demand for the death sentence for the accused responsible.
