Dudhia, 15th September: The Dudhia Bailey Bridge has been closed to vehicular movement from 6 am to 6 pm on Tuesday for scheduled maintenance work.
The closure has affected direct connectivity between Siliguri and Mirik. However, the administration has arranged an alternative route for vehicles travelling towards Mirik.
The Hume Pipe Bridge at Dudhia was damaged due to strong water flow in the Balason River, resulting in the suspension of movement of goods vehicles.
Vehicular movement over the Bailey Bridge has been suspended for 12 hours as part of its monthly maintenance schedule.
The bridge is expected to reopen for traffic after the maintenance work is completed.
