Siliguri, 16th April: Sensation prevailed after a couple was found hanging from a noose in Ward No. 32 Nandigram, Siliguri. The deceased have been identified as Nagen Barman and Sushila Barman. Nagen Varman was a daily wager.
On Friday, a local woman sighted the bodies hanging from a tree in a nearby field. The deceased couple’s house is situated within 100 meters from the scene. After receiving information from the locals, the NJP police reached the spot and recovered the two bodies.
According to locals, the couple committed suicide due to family tensions and financial problems. The bodies have been recovered and sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
