Siliguri, 03rd October: In a remarkable initiative, Councillor Dilip Barman of Siliguri’s Ward No. 46 distributed clothes to 40 SMC employees from his ward in celebration of the upcoming Durga Puja.
Durga Puja is the largest festival in West Bengal, where it has been a tradition for individuals to wear new clothes while visiting various puja pandals. However, many families face financial challenges preventing them from affording new garments during the festivity.
In alignment with the issue, Councillor Barman provided new clothes and bonuses to the employees of Ward 46.
