Siliguri, 04th June: Although Siliguri is gradually returning to normalcy in the first week of Unlock-1, several people are still left unemployed and are struggling to make ends meet. Although various services have resumed operations, many domestic helpers and laborers are still dependent on others to feed their hungry stomachs.
During the entire lockdown period, several social activists and voluntary organizations provided food to the needy. However, with Unlock-1 in effect, the scenario has completely changed in the city.
Several needy people were spotted sitting outside the Mayer Iccha Kalibari. They stated that they are roaming around on the streets in search of food but unlike a few days ago, no one is stepping forward to help them.
