Coronavirus scare: Sikkim and Bhutan ban entry of foreign citizens, tourists head towards Darjeeling

Siliguri, 06th March: An atmosphere of fear is being witnessed all over India regarding the Novel Coronavirus. There have been reports of people suffering from Coronavirus in many states of India. Due to the coronavirus scare, Sikkim has temporarily banned the entry of foreign citizens in the state. Meanwhile, Bhutan has also banned the entry of foreign citizens for 2 weeks as there have been reports of people suffering from the Novel Coronavirus in Bhutan as well.


On the other hand, 2 Germans were hospitalized due to the deadly disease. However, no traces of the disease was found during the test. A large number of Bangladeshi and Bhutan tourists had arrived at the Siliguri’s Sikkim National Transport (SNT) Bus Terminus, since morning, but no one owned a permission letter to travel to Sikkim. Hence, many tourists travelled to Darjeeling instead of Sikkim. The locals, as well as the tourists, were seen wearing masks at the SNT Bus Terminus, today.
