Cooch Behar, 24th March: In view of the Coronavirus outbreak, Kolkata and all other major towns and cities of West Bengal is observing a lockdown starting from March 23 to March 27, 2020. Such an initiative has been taken to prevent the further spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
However, since morning, the locals have been sighted on the streets of Cooch Behar ignoring the lockdown. E-rickshaws (Toto), motorcycles and various other vehicles were spotted in the streets. Several shops are also open.
Although the administration has urged all the citizens to stay at home, several people are sighted walking around Cooch Behar’s Bhabaniganj Bazar, Natun Bazar and many more areas.
