Cooch Behar, 05th June: In an alarming turn of events, a violent altercation erupted in the Bhajanpur area of Dawaguri, located in the Natabari Assembly of Cooch Behar. The incident involved allegations against BJP of firing and the use of sharp weapon at a TMYC booth president, identified as Rezzak Hossain, is currently undergoing treatment.
According to reports, Rezzak Hossain, was initially attacked with a sharp weapon during an altercation. Meanwhile, a video of the accused BJP leader holding the firearm had surfaced. The injured TMYC president was immediately transferred to the Cooch Behar MJN Medical College and Hospital. Upon receiving the news, Cooch Behar District TMC President Abhijit Dey Bhowmik and Cooch Behar’s winning candidate Jagadish Chandra Burma Basunia visited the medical centre.
Cooch Behar District President Abhijit Dey Bhowmik asserted that Hossain was first shot at in Natabari Bhajanpur area before being subjected to further violence involving sharp weapons. Bhowmik has lodged a formal complaint against the BJP in connection with the incident. However, the BJP denied all allegations counter claiming that their workers were attacked and injured.
