Cooch Behar, 03rd November: Tension gripped the Dakshin Takagachh area in Cooch Behar as ration beneficiaries demonstrated over subpar rice distribution in ration shops.
According to reports, the local ration dealer is alleged to serve inferior rice for a prolonged period of time. The incident came to light on Friday when the consumers noticed the inferior quality of rice. The rice was adulterated and was completely inedible. Compounding the issue, the ration dealer paid no attention despite being aware of the predicament. Consequently, the customers joined the demonstration.
In response, the ration dealer defended himself stating that he provided the food items received from the government and thus termed the accusations against him as baseless.
