Bagdogra, 28th June: The Upper Bagdogra Region Congress Committee organized a protest march on Friday, alleging widespread corruption in the Gram Panchayat. Congress workers and supporters gathered at Bagdogra Bihar More before marching to the Bagdogra Gram Panchayat office.
The protesters, led by Congress leadership, attempted to present a 12-point memorandum addressing various issues. However, they were initially stopped by the police. Eventually, 12 representatives were allowed to enter the Gram Panchayat office and handed over the memorandum to Upper Bagdogra Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sanjib Sinha.
Naxalbari Block Congress President Amitabh Sarkar highlighted that the memorandum outlined numerous problems, including issues with water supply, roads, and drainage canals in different areas. The protest aimed to draw attention to these concerns and demand immediate action.
