Naxalbari, 11th December: On Wednesday, the Naxalbari Block Congress Committee staged a protest at the Naxalbari BLLRO (Block Land and Land Revenue Officer) office demanding action on several issues.
According to reports, protesters accused the BLLRO office of bribery, complained that the land revenue department was spoiled with brokers, and claimed that illegal land renovations were taking place in the area. Additionally, they alleged that the new BLLRO is demanding ₹1 lakh to process any work. Additionally, illegal sand mining activities are being carried out in the region, and no action has been taken by the department.
The Congress leaders marched from the Naxalbari Congress office to the BLLRO office, where they held a demonstration and submitted a memorandum outlining their demands.
In response, BLLRO Debraj Bag dismissed the allegations and stated that the department addresses the issues brought by the public and ensures their resolution.
