Congress-CPI (M) coalition workers accuse police of seizing voter cards in Rajganj

Rajganj, 10th July: Re-polling is currently underway at Jummagach BFP School under Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block. However, amidst the ongoing voting process, allegations have emerged from workers and supporters of the Congress and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) coalition. They claim that the police have been confiscating voter cards and other documents from their homes.

According to reports, a special observer assigned to oversee the polls visited the aforementioned polling booth today. Following this visit, a worker came forward and lodged a complaint, accusing the police of visiting his relative’s house and confiscating all their documents.

Rabiul Islam, one of the workers, stated that he was unable to cast his vote as the police arrived at his residence and took away his voter card. On the other hand, Khageswar Roy, the Jalpaiguri District Trinamool Congress Chairman, dismissed the allegations as opposition propaganda.
