Complaint lodged at Siliguri Cyber Police Station against Trinamool Youth (YUVA) Congress

Siliguri, 14th January: A complaint has been lodged on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha against the Trinamool Youth (YUVA) Congress at the Cybercrime station for allegedly spreading propaganda by uploading a photo of the BJP President of the West Bengal unit, Dilip Ghosh, on social media.


According to the report, a motorcycle rally was organized by the Darjeeling District Trinamool Youth (YUVA) Congress to mark the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, on January 12th. The Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that Trinamool Congress activists and supporters staged a motorcycle rally by advertising an image of Trinamool Yuva Congress President, Abhishek Banerjee. It has been alleged that, as soon as the image went viral on social media, the Trinamool Congress workers replaced Abhishek Banerjee’s image with that of BJP President of the West Bengal unit, Dilip Ghosh, and uploaded it on social media.

A complaint was lodged against the Trinamool Youth (YUVA) Congress Kanchan Debnath alleged that propaganda was spread involving BJP President of the West Bengal unit and MP, Dilip Ghosh, from a Trinamool Congress’ Facebook page. The BJYM has demanded an inquiry into the matter.


While denying the allegations of using Abhishek Banerjee’s image at the motorcycle rally, the Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress President Ranjan Sarkar stated that an excited E-rickshaw (Toto) driver had advertised an image of Abhishek Banerjee. The Toto driver and the Yuva activists of the Trinamool Congress have been instructed to not repeat the mistake. Regarding uploading Dilip Ghosh’s image on social media, Ranjan Sarkar clearly stated that they neither have the time nor such mentality.
