Siliguri, 15th April: Trinamool Congress (TMC) Supremo and Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to carry out a ‘Padyatra’ in support of the party candidate in Siliguri on April 16. The procession would commence at 2 p.m. from Airview More and conclude at Baghajatin Park.
According to reports, on Monday, the police officials visited Hill Cart Road and Baghajatin Park to take stock of the preparations and security arrangements. Significantly, Siliguri Police Commissioner, including other officers of the department visited the locations.
With regard to the programme, Darjeeling District TMC President Papiya Ghosh stated that the CM would lead the rally in support of candidate Gopal Lama from Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency. She added that the CM campaign with supporters from multiple religions.
