Siliguri, 13th November: The second intake well for water supply was inaugurated in Siliguri on Wednesday. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is currently present in Darjeeling, virtually inaugurated the well of Fulbari, to reduce the city’s drinking water issues.
The virtual inauguration event, held in Baghajatin Park, witnessed the participation of Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, along with other municipal officials, councilors, and staff.
Additionally, work on Siliguri’s second water project has already commenced. Mayor Deb announced that the intake well’s construction had been completed on time. Several deep tube wells will also be installed in various parts of the city to ensure an uninterrupted water supply. Authorities assured that Siliguri will no longer encounter a water crisis within the next few months.
