Siliguri, 12th October: On Thursday, Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee virtually inaugurated several Durga Puja pandals in various districts of North and South Bengal. On that note, the CM also inaugurated the puja pandals of Dada Bhai Sporting Club and Subrata Sangha in Siliguri. The event was graced by the presence of Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar, and other officials in Subrata Sangha.
According to reports, during the inauguration, the CM announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to each family of those who lost their lives in the Sikkim disaster at Rangpo in Kalimpong. The CM further stated that Rs 1 lakh will be compensated to the affected family members living in the areas along the Teesta bank including Malbazar.
