Siliguri, 02nd January: Preparations are in full swing in Siliguri ahead of the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Mahakal Temple, which Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to perform on 16th January. Administrative authorities are making extensive arrangements in the Matigara area of the city to ensure smooth execution of the event.
Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, who visited the temple construction site on Friday, provided details of the ongoing preparations. Several senior officials, including the District Magistrate and representatives from various departments, were present during the inspection. The officials assessed the designated area and issued necessary instructions for the development of the temple complex.
Authorities have already commenced land levelling and cleaning work at the site, with heavy machinery deployed to prepare the area. The upcoming temple event has generated excitement among local residents. In addition, security arrangements are being strengthened in anticipation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee laying the foundation stone at the Mahakal Temple.
