CM Mamata Banerjee announces Alapan Bandyopadhyay will now serve as Chief Advisor to CM from Tuesday

Amid the soaring tussle over the extension of the state’s Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay’s tenure, the centre on Monday appointed Hari Kirshan Dwivedi as the new chief secretary to CM Mamata Banerjee. Hari Kirshan Dwivedi is currently serving as the home secretary of the state.

Claiming Alapan Bandyopadhyay to be the ‘face of Bengal’s fight against COVID-19,’ CM Mamata Banerjee has refused to let go of him. She announced that Alapan Bandyopadhyay will now serve as the Chief Advisor to the CM from Tuesday itself.

“He must continue his service to Bengal and the country,” Banerjee added.
