Siliguri, 06th January: CITU issued a memorandum to the Siliguri SDO on Wednesday demanding a permanent solution for e-rickshaws (Toto) drivers.
CITU Darjeeling district secretary Saman Pathak raised a demand to provide compensation to the toto drivers or lift the order, failing which, larger demonstration will be staged on behalf of the body.
It is to be noted that e-rickshaws (totos) have been restricted on the city’s national highways since January 01. As a result, hundreds of toto drivers are facing extreme difficulties.
