Siliguri, 13th April: A vibrant ‘Mangal Shobhayatra’ and a felicitation ceremony for Gajan sannyasis were organised in Siliguri on the occasion of the traditional Charak Puja. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees and visitors across the city.
The programme was organised under the initiative of Hindu Suraksha Samiti and Tapan Ghosh Smriti Sansad. A large number of participants gathered to celebrate the festival with devotion and cultural fervour.
The procession commenced from Baghajatin Park and saw participation from more than 100 Charak committees. It culminated at Vidyasagar School in Baghajatin Colony, Siliguri, where Gajan sannyasis were felicitated in recognition of their religious dedication.
Following the ceremony, a discussion session was held highlighting the rich heritage and social significance of Charak Puja. Organisers also arranged prasad distribution for devotees attending the event.
