Siliguri, 27th September: Sanjay Chilwar, ADRM of NJP-Kathihar division, informed that from now on, the Toy Train will depart from Darjeeling station at 9 am instead of 8 am. However, no changes have been made in the time of departure from NJP station.
He said that it is extremely difficult for tourists to board the train from Darjeeling at 8 am in morning. Hence, such an initiative was taken.
Besides, Indian Railways is working to revive the tourism industry in North Bengal before Durga Puja. Ghoom Festival will start from November 13 and continue till December 05 to increase tourist attraction. He also said that the culture and heritage of the hills will be highlighted through this festival.
