Siliguri, 30th August: There was a stir in the area after the carcasses of five cows were found on the roadside in Salugara, Siliguri. The locals came across the horrifying scene this morning. Following this, the incident was informed to the Bhaktinagar police, who reached the spot immediately.
According to police sources, a total of 6 cows were found on the spot, out of which 5 cows were dead. The surviving cow is said to be seriously injured. Meanwhile, animal rights activists of Siliguri Khatu Shyam Pariwar also reached the spot and took the injured cow for treatment.
The cops of Bhaktinagar police station sent the five dead cows for post-mortem and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Animal activist Paresh Roy coined the news as a very sad incident and demanded proper investigation.
