Siliguri, 18th July: Martyred army officer Captain Brijesh Thapa will be cremated on Thursday in Lebong, Darjeeling. The family departed from Bangdubi Military Station this morning, accompanying his body in a coffin.
Residents from various parts of the hills gathered along the roads to honor the fallen hero, with significant crowds seen in Kurseong since early morning. Both civilians and ex-servicemen paid their respects.
On Wednesday, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, GTA Chief Anit Thapa, and residents from different areas offered tributes to Captain Brijesh Thapa at Bangdubi Military Station. Captain Thapa was martyred in a recent encounter with terrorists in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir.
