Burglars strike vacant house in Rajganj, cash and gold jewellery stolen

Rajganj, 23rd December: A brazen burglary was reported from Ambari’s 9 Number Colony under the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat area of Rajganj block after miscreants targeted a house while the family was away.


According to sources, the house belongs to Biswajit Roy, a mason by profession who also runs a small garment business from his residence to support his family. Roy had travelled to Jharkhand with his wife and daughter on 18th December in connection with his daughter’s singing programme.

On Tuesday morning, upon returning home, the family found the inner door broken. Inside, the almirah was found forced open and household items were scattered across the rooms, indicating a burglary.


After receiving information, police from Bhorer Alo police station reached the spot, inspected the premises and initiated an investigation into the case.

Biswajit Roy stated that the burglars decamped with gold jewellery, new clothes kept for sale and around Rs 15,000 in cash.

Police said efforts are underway to identify and trace those involved in the theft.
