Siliguri, 27th January: A meeting was held at the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday to review the progress of the Burdwan Road flyover and the development work on Nivedita Road. Mayor Gautam Deb held discussions with officials of the concerned departments and stated that the Burdwan Road flyover was earlier scheduled to open on 15th January, but delays in railway-related works slowed down the completion process.
He said painting work is currently underway by the PWD, and the remaining construction will be completed soon. After completion, the area beneath the flyover will be cleaned and parking facilities will be made operational. The mayor also announced that work on Nivedita Road will begin shortly, aiming to improve traffic movement and infrastructure in the area.
