Burdwan Road flyover in Siliguri set for inauguration soon, says Mayor Gautam Deb

Siliguri, 03rd February: The newly constructed Burdwan Road flyover in Siliguri is being given a complete facelift and will be inaugurated soon, Mayor Gautam Deb announced. Several major development plans linked to the flyover have also been outlined.

The Mayor said the project is not limited to easing traffic movement. Plans have been drawn up to make the area beneath the flyover useful and visually attractive for the public. A well-organised parking zone will be developed under the flyover, which is expected to help reduce traffic congestion in nearby areas. A dedicated play zone for children will also be created.

To enhance the surroundings, rows of trees will be planted under the flyover to add greenery. The pillars of the flyover will feature various artworks, aimed at making the structure more visually appealing for commuters and pedestrians.

Regarding the naming of the flyover, the mayor said the names of two eminent personalities from Bengal have been sent to the state government for approval. Once the green signal is received, the final name will be announced and the flyover will be formally inaugurated.

Mayor Gautam Deb added that the remaining work on the flyover is progressing at a fast pace and residents of Siliguri will soon be able to use this modern infrastructure facility.
