Siliguri, 12th February: Police have arrested two youths in connection with a daytime mobile snatching incident. The incident occurred on 8th February when a woman, walking near Don Bosco More, was talking on her mobile phone. Two bike-borne youths approached from behind, snatched the phone from her hand, and fled.
On hearing the woman’s cries, locals gathered and informed the police. Bhakti Nagar police began an investigation immediately. With the help of CCTV footage and intelligence sources, both accused were arrested within a few hours. They have been identified as Abhishek Thapa (24) and Pintu Samant (24), residents of Ward No. 4, Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
The police presented the accused in court and obtained their remand. During questioning, the mobile phone and the bike used in the crime were recovered based on their statements. The police are investigating further to identify any other possible suspects and continue a thorough probe into the case.
