Bomb blast at TMC leader’s residence in Mathabhanga creates sensation

Cooch Behar, 31st May: An incident of a bomb blast at the residence of a Trinamool Congress leader in Ward No. 10 of Mathabhanga has caused a stir. Trinamool Congress President Bhaskar Biswas has lodged a written complaint with the Mathabhanga police station regarding the incident.


According to reports, the incident took place late on Tuesday night, following an alleged dispute between a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker named Rakesh Deb and some local youths. Around 10 pm, Deb left the scene after being opposed by Trinamool leader Bhaskar Biswas. He alleged that later that night, a bomb was thrown in front of his house by Rakesh Deb. However, Deb has refuted these allegations, deeming them baseless.

Rakesh Deb claimed that he was attacked by Biswas and his associates while returning home. He managed to escape and reach home safely but did not return to the scene afterwards. Additionally, Deb stated that Rs 50,000 was missing from his pocket. The police are currently investigating the incident to ascertain the facts and determine the cause of the bomb blast. Meanwhile, both the TMC and the BJP have expressed concern over the incident and urged for a thorough investigation.
