Siliguri, 28th April: In a disturbing incident, the body of a newborn was found at Parvati Ghat of the Mahananda River, situated in Baghajatin Colony under ward number 45 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). The incident sparked shock and concern throughout the area.
Reports indicate that the local children playing in the vicinity spotted the lifeless body of the newborn during the evening hours. Subsequently, the authorities were promptly alerted of the incident. The Pradhan Nagar police swiftly responded and arrived at the scene to recover the body.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the newborn’s body might have been disposed of elsewhere and eventually ended up in the river. At present, the entire incident is under further investigation.
