Cooch Behar, 04th September: Sensation prevailed after the body of a man was found in a pond near a house adjacent to Mathabhanga Panchanan More in Cooch Behar. The deceased has been identified as Chandan Das.
As per reports, on Sunday night, at around 9 p.m., Chandan left his home saying he was going to attend a ‘kirtan’ program. However, he did not return home at night. On Monday morning, the locals spotted his lifeless body afloat in a pond.
Subsequently, the matter was informed to the police. Upon receiving the news, police arrived at the spot, recovered the deceased body, and transported it for post-mortem examination. At present, police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
