Rajganj, 09th February: The first block conference of the Nationalist Folk Artist Group was held at the Chandar Bari Gulu Kanta Roy High School in Rajganj on Sunday. In this regard, various ‘Bhawaiya’ and folk songs were performed by many artists of the area.
The artists stated that Folk music is gradually becoming lost due to the poor financial condition of the village artists and lack of proper co-operation. As a result, they stated that they require support from all levels.
Jalpaiguri District-in-council member Uttara Barman, Rajganj Bidhan Sabha MLA Khageshwar Roy, Rajganj Panchayat Samiti President Purnima Roy, Panikauri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Alok Roy, social worker Lakkhamohan Roy and many other dignitaries were present during the conference.
