Jalpaiguri, 19th February: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Parivartan Yatra chariot reached Jalpaiguri on Friday morning after touring Cooch Behar and Alipurduar districts.
Following this, the BJP leaders offered puja at Shivmandir in Baikunthapur Rajbari. The party is likely to hold a public meeting at Jalpaiguri Milan Sangha grounds after touring the entire city. The meeting will commence at 2 pm. Union Minister Debashree Chowdhury is expected to be present at the meeting.
The chariot toured the entire city under tight police security. BJP leader Sayantan Basu, Jalpaiguri MP Dr Jayant Kumar Roy, district president Bapi Goswami and other leaders were present in the yatra.
