Maynaguri, 31st March: BJP workers and supporters in Maynaguri erupted in celebration following the party’s decision to change its candidate for the Assembly constituency.
According to reports, the earlier announcement of Kaushik Roy as the candidate had sparked widespread dissatisfaction among a section of party workers. Protests were held at the party office, with the district president reportedly being confined during the demonstration.
On Tuesday, the party replaced Kaushik Roy with Dalim Roy as the candidate for the seat.
Following the announcement, BJP workers gathered at the party office in Maynaguri and celebrated by applying colours, welcoming Dalim Roy as the new candidate.
