BJP stage ‘Save Democracy’ demonstration in Siliguri

Siliguri, 04th September: The Siliguri Organizational District BJP leaders staged a sit-in protest across the city and handed over a memorandum at the SDO office with a demand to ‘Save Democracy’.


Reportedly, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called for sit-in protests across the state today. Likewise, several District BJP leaders and activists joined the protest at SDO’s office in Siliguri’s Mallaguri today.

A team led by BJP District President Praveen Agarwal handed over a memorandum at the SDO’s office. BJP Yuva Morcha workers were spotted sitting on Hillcart Road. A large police force of Pradhan Nagar police station was deployed to prevent any untoward incident.


District President Praveen Agarwal stated that numerous BJP leaders and activists have been detained in many places without any proper reason. He further accused the police of not allowing them to set up a platform to stage their protest outside the SDO office today. He expressed outrage and further accused the state government of using the police administration in their favour.
