Siliguri, 27th November: BJP MLA Sikha Chatterjee led a protest along with the Youth of Jalpaiguri district and members of BJP’s Mandal Committee in front of the NJP police station making several allegations against the state government.
Alleging that the BJP workers are being falsely implicated in various cases and further alleged police working for TMC the BJP led a rally that reached the police station but was stopped by the police at the gate. After this, they protested in front of the gate.
Later BJP leaders including MLA Sikha Chatterjee went to the police station and handed over a memorandum. In this regard, MLA Sikha Chatterjee said that the NJP area is slowly becoming unsafe with cases of illegal drug dealers operating in the said area, women are also not safe and common people are being harassed. Despite such issues, the police fail to take any measure or action and cited as the reason for the protest.
