Rajganj, 05th March: A BJP panchayat member has raised allegations of irregularities in the ‘Banglar Bari’ housing scheme in Rajganj, claiming that houses are being allotted selectively to Trinamool Congress workers.
The issue has created a stir in the Adarsha Pally’s Bhelki Para area under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat. On Thursday, BJP panchayat member Rohini Barman addressed the media along with party workers and voiced his concerns.
Barman alleged that despite being an elected panchayat member of the village, he is not being informed about various development works carried out under the “Amader Para, Amader Samadhan” initiative. He further claimed that foundation stones for several projects are being laid without informing or involving him.
He also alleged that houses under the Banglar Bari scheme are being allotted selectively to Trinamool workers, and many beneficiaries have not even started construction work yet.
According to Barman, a written complaint regarding the matter has been submitted to the Rajganj Block Development Officer (BDO).
However, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed has rejected all the allegations. He stated that the BJP is making baseless accusations due to a lack of work, and claimed that development activities are being carried out in the area.
Ahmed also alleged that BJP MP Jayanta Roy has not undertaken any development work in the region after winning the election.
