Rajganj, 02nd January: The members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha staged a protest in front of the Rajganj BLLRO Office in support of 9-point demands including retrieving government land and halting illegal sand mining from rivers. In addition, the BJP Kisan Morcha submitted a memorandum at the said office.
According to reports, on Tuesday, the organization’s workers and supporters gathered in the Fatapukur area and rallied towards the BLLRO Office in Rajganj. Subsequently, after a brief demonstration, the members submitted a 9-point demand memorandum.
In this regard, the BJP leaders alleged that the land mafias are selling the plot of land by changing the structure of government land in Rajganj Block. They added that representatives of the ruling party along with BLLRO are also involved. They further alleged that plots of land belonging to the general public are also being sold in various ways. In addition, unauthorized soil and sand extraction from several rivers including Karatoya and Chawai rivers are allegedly prevalent in Rajganj block.
Speaking in this regard, BJP Kisan Morcha District President Nakul Das and BJP Rajganj Block President Nitai Mandal stated that the previous BLLR was aware of the entire incident; however, he refrained from providing information. They added that if the prevailing situation does not change, then the BLLRO Office will be suspended.
Meanwhile, the new in-charge BLLRO Sukhen Roy stated that numerous complaints have been given in writing and the issues have been discussed. He added that the drawbacks have to be analyzed and ascertain what proactive measures have to be taken. Furthermore, he claimed that he was not given the full responsibility of the BLLRO as of now, and stated of taking necessary actions upon being entrusted with the responsibility.
