Siliguri, 27th December: The 145th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda was celebrated in Garidhura on behalf of the Adivasi Vikas Sangathan and Adivasi Janmukti Morcha.
November 15 marks the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. However, the celebrations were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The GTA members were present during the programme.
GTA member Arun Sinha inaugurated the programme by laying a wreath at the portrait of Birsa Munda. GTA member Anu Chhetri, Central Committee President of Adivasi Vikas Sangathan Gulshan Baraik, spokesperson Amit Baraik, and many others were present today.
Gulshan Baraik, President of Adivasi Vikas Sangathan, said that Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary is celebrated in a big way every year. However, this time, the celebrations were delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.
